Application Instructions

• Concrete & Cement (New Wall): Surface should be clean, dry, and free from contaminants. Apply 1 coat of Berger Contractors Primer or Berger ALD Primer or Berger Magicote Flat Emulsion itself, then apply 2 coats of Berger Magicote Flat Emulsion.
• Wood (New): Apply 1 coat of Berger Grip & Seal Multi-surface Sealer & Primer or Berger Undercoat Wood Primer, then apply 2 coats of Berger Magicote Flat Emulsion.
• Previously Oil-Painted Areas: Clean thoroughly, remove all loose/flaking material, rub down with fine grade sandpaper, and touch up with the appropriate Berger Primer.
• Previously Lime-Washed/Distempered: Clean, scrape, and wire brush thoroughly. Apply 1 coat of Berger Alkali Sealer before painting.
• Priming Metal:
  • Iron & Steel: Use Berger Zinc Chromate Metal Primer, Berger Luxaprime 1400, or other suitable Berger Metal Primer.
  • Aluminum & Zinc: Apply a first coat of Berger Self Etch Primer.
