Technical Information
This 3″ Schedule 40 PVC Ball Valve features a full-port design that provides unrestricted flow when fully open. The true union design allows for easy removal for maintenance without disturbing the connected piping. The pressure rating decreases as temperature increases:
- 150 PSI @ 73°F
- 135 PSI @ 90°F
- 105 PSI @ 110°F
- 70 PSI @ 140°F
Key features include:
- Positive stop handle with ergonomic grip
- Blowout-proof stem design for safety
- Double O-ring stem seals for leak prevention
- PTFE seats for smooth operation and extended cycle life
- Full-port design reduces pressure drop across the valve
Applications
- Water treatment systems
- Chemical processing
- Swimming pool and spa systems
- Irrigation systems
- Industrial fluid handling
- Water distribution
- Process control
- Wastewater treatment
Installation Guidelines
- For socket connections, use appropriate PVC primer and cement
- Allow proper curing time according to cement manufacturer instructions
- Install with flow direction matching directional arrow (if present)
- Provide adequate support on both sides of the valve
- Do not use as a throttling valve – recommended for fully open or fully closed positions only
- Leave clearance for handle operation
- Operate periodically to prevent seizing
- Allow 24 hours curing time before pressure testing
- Hand-tighten union nuts only – do not use metal tools that may damage threads
Compliance Information
- NSF/ANSI 61 certified for potable water applications
- Lead-free compliant per Safe Drinking Water Act
- Manufactured in compliance with ASTM standards
