Application Instructions

• New Plaster/Cement: Allow to dry out completely. Remove any efflorescence by wiping down. Apply 2 or 3 coats when efflorescence ceases.
• New Wood and Metal (Requires Primer):
  • Wood: Rub down, treat all knots with Sissons Sanding Sealer (2 thin coats), then apply one coat of Sissons Universal Undercoat before painting with emulsion.
  • Metal: Prime with Sissons Zinc Chromate Primer (Red or Yellow) or Zinc Phosphate Primer (White) before applying emulsion.
• Previously Painted (Good Condition): Clean surface (dirt, wax, grease-free). If glossy, thoroughly sandpaper to ensure good adhesion.
• Previously Painted (Unsound/Flaking): Remove all unsound areas by wire brushing. Bind the surface with a coat of Sissons Water based Acrylic Sealer before repainting.
• Fungus Treatment: Do not use bleach. Scrub the infected surface with soap detergent and water. Rinse, allow to dry thoroughly. Apply Sissons Biocidal Solution, allow to react for at least 30 mins, then repaint shortly after treatment has dried.
