Features
- Grooved black rubber brake blocks for consistent friction and braking force on aluminium and steel rims
- Horizontal tread grooves across the pad face channel water away from the contact surface during wet weather braking
- Rectangular pad profile provides a broad, flat contact face against the rim sidewall
- Threaded mounting bolt allows pad angle and height to be adjusted when fitting to ensure correct rim alignment
- Hex nut secures the pad position on the calliper arm after adjustment
- Two-piece stepped rubber block construction with segmented grooves for consistent wear and pad contact
- Suitable for front and rear rim brake calliper applications
- Direct replacement for worn, glazed, or oil-contaminated brake pads
Perfect For
- Road bike rim brake maintenance
- Mountain bike V-brake and calliper brake pad replacement
- Cruiser and hybrid bicycle brake servicing
- Children’s and general-purpose bicycle brake repair
- Front and rear brake pad replacement
- Worn or contaminated brake pad replacement
- Routine bicycle safety maintenance
- Cycle workshop brake servicing
Key Features
- Grooved Rubber Compound: The horizontal grooves across the pad face displace water during wet braking, maintaining more consistent contact and braking force in rain compared to smooth-faced pads
- Threaded Bolt Mounting: The adjustable bolt allows the pad to be correctly aligned with the rim sidewall — critical for braking performance and avoiding tyre contact that can cause sudden lock-up
- Rectangular Pad Profile: The broad flat contact face maximises the braking surface area against the rim, providing more consistent and even braking force
- Segmented Pad Construction: The horizontal groove segments help maintain pad-to-rim contact as the pad wears, preventing the pad from becoming excessively smooth during service life
- Sold as a Pair: Both left and right brake pads are included, ensuring matched braking balance when replacing pads on a single wheel
- Direct Replacement: Standard fitment compatible with the vast majority of rim brake calliper types including standard callipers, V-brakes, and side-pull brakes
Application Instructions
- Identify the worn brake pads on the bicycle — inspect pad thickness and surface condition
- Loosen the hex nut on the existing brake pad bolt using the appropriate spanner
- Slide the worn brake pad out of the calliper arm slot and discard
- Clean the rim sidewall contact surface with isopropyl alcohol before fitting new pads — remove any glazing, oil, or debris
- Insert the new brake pad bolt into the calliper arm slot and hand-thread the hex nut
- Align the pad so the full face of the rubber block sits flush against the rim sidewall — the pad must not contact the tyre
- Angle the leading edge of the pad very slightly forward (toe-in) to reduce brake squeal
- Hold the pad in the correct position and tighten the hex nut firmly
- Squeeze the brake lever and check the pad contacts the rim evenly — readjust if needed
- Repeat for the opposite pad, then check overall brake performance before riding
